Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour
Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and met by our representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 02 Delhi - Agra
After breakfast, drive to Agra. On arrival, check in at hotel. Afternoon city tour covering world famous Taj Mahal, Red Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula's. Overnight at Agra.
Day 03 Agra - Delhi - Varanasi
Early morning drive to Delhi and transfer to airport to catch afternoon flight to Varanasi. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Evening free for own activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Varanasi - Sarnath - Varanasi
At dawn enjoy boat ride at River Ganges. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later leave for city tour covering - Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple etc. Afternoon city tour of Sarnath: famous for its Dhamekh Stupa and for it being the place where Buddha preached his first sermon enshrining the principle of his teachings into laws. Overnight at Varanasi.
Day 05 Varanasi - Bodhgaya - Nalanda - Bodhgaya
After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya (242 Kms/5.5 hrs). Arrive and check-in at hotel. Spend some time in local sightseeing of Bodhgaya followed by excursion trip to Nalanda, which is 103 kms from Bodhgaya. Nalanda : founded in the 5th century known as center of intellectualism. Overnight at Bodhgaya.
Day 06 Bodhgaya - Rajgir
After breakfast, take excursion trips to Rajgir (198 Kms) and Sapta Pari Cave and Venevamas. You will come across with many locales of Buddhist significance. Rajgir : an important Buddhist pilgrimage since the Buddha spent 12 years here, and the first Buddhist council after the Buddha attained Nirvana was held here. Overnight at Rajgir.
Day 07 Rajgir - Vaishali (Patna)
After breakfast, proceed to Vaishali (108 kms, a very special place to Buddhists as The Lord delivered his last sermon and announced his impending "Nirvana". See the majesty of Ashok Pillar - Lotus tank and Chaumukhi. Overnight at Vaishali.
Day 08 Vaishali - Kushinagar
After an early breakfast, drive to Kushinagar (253 kms/5 hrs). Arrive and check-in at hotel. Post lunch, visit Mahanirvana Temple, the modern Japan-Srilanka Buddhistcenterand monasteries. Also visit temple where Budhha attainedMahaparinivana.Overnight at Kushinagar.
Day 09 Kushinagar - Lumbini - Kapilvastu - Sravasti - Balrampur
After an early breakfast, drive to Lumbini (161 kms/2 hrs) and visit Ashoka's pillar (249 BC) rediscovered in 1890's inside thick sal forest, a temple of Mayadevi, the ruins of an old monastery and some new stupas, followed by trip to Kapilvastu. Drive to Balrampur enroute visiting Sravasti where you will see the extensive ruins of this ancient city and Jetavana Monastery. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at Balrampur.
Day 10 Balrampur - Lucknow - Delhi
After breakfast, take brief city tour followed by drive to Lucknow. Arrive Lucknow and transfer to railway station to board the train to Delhi. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 11 In Delhi
Post breakfast, leave for combined sightseeing of Old & New Delhi including India Gate, Presidential Palace, Humayun's Tomb,Qutub Mina and Jama Masjid. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 12 Delhi - onwards
After a relaxed breakfast, spend next couple of hours at leisure for own activities. Check-out in-time and transfer to airportto board the flight for onward destination.
